Clear price lists for spectacle lenses
The OPTIKSCHWEIZ association has announced that the cantonal authorities are currently investigating the enforcement of the Price Disclosure Ordinance (PBV) in the ophthalmic optics sector on behalf of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO. The police have already made representations to the first member businesses - in other cantons, the authorities are contacting them by post. To the surprise of the industry, SECO now also provides clear price lists for spectacle lenses.
Until now, it has been assumed that the prices for spectacle lenses only arise after the actual lens consultation and determination and must be clearly and verifiably communicated to customers before they make a purchase decision. OPTIKSCHWEIZ is currently working at full speed to examine the legal framework and create corresponding templates for members. Information on this will be provided shortly.
